  
Cabinetmaker's Mortise Chisels from Maruyoshi Company of Miki, Japan "Tateguya Nomi"
These robust chisels are designed for cutting mortises in furniture pieces and shoji screens. These chisels are made by hand welding high carbon steel ("white steel") to wrought iron (softer metal). The cutting edge reaches the hardness of Rockwell c 65 degrees, which keeps its sharpness over long periods of heavy chopping. The handles are double hooped and are made from tough Japanese oak. The useable blade length is 3 inches and overall length is 10 inches. Save $40 with this set!
