 This caliper has an advanced handle design that allows for one handed use. The outside caliper is undoubtedly the most widely used measuring tool in the arsenal of the wood turner, which has remained unchanged over the centuries. We improved it by adding smooth balls to the tips to make it easier to use while lathe is turning (our item # 306-1008). Now comes the digital version, which has an electronic readout in mm, decimals inches as well as fractional inches (in 1/64” increments). This 8” outside caliper has the maximum readout of 8 1/2”. With the accuracy of 0.01”, this digital caliper can be set far more accurately than by using a ruler. The readout also makes it easy to repeat the setting at the exact opening again and again.
